"Population Growth"

In these parts of the video the narrator says that if the

 population continue growing as it is doing now, we 

will not reach the level of living in "satisfaction" 

without risking the destruction of the environment. It 

took 123years to hit 2 billion, and only near 33 to hit 

3 billion.

"Population Pyramides"

 Russia having the biggest territory in the world has 

the same population as Nigeria, a country much 

smaller than Russia. But Russia's population is slowly

 declining, while Nigeria's is growing.

The population pyramide is divided in gender and ages, with males in one side and females in the other. This pyramid is separated in groups of five-year age interval, from 0 to 4 and continuing up to 100 and up:
-Pre reproductive (0-14)
-Reproductive (15-44)
-Post reproductive (45 & up)

"7 Billion: How Did We Get So Big So Fast?"

In these two pictures we can see that in the year of 1000 there were much less people than in 2011: The population grows from 0.3 billion people (thanks for the medicine and agriculture) to 7 billion people. In both most of them lived in China, India and the rest of Asia and there were less people in North and Latin America.

"World Population"
In this video it is said that humans depend on limited resources for our survival and we thrive in less of 17% of the earth and only a 4% to grow crops. Is also said that we are increasing the population as if these resources were infinite, and they dont't last for ever.

Antigua Grecia

En la clase de hitoria estudiamos las civilizaciones, Minóica y Micénica. Luego realizamos un cuadro comparando las mismas:

¿Hervívoros hasta que punto?

¿Se agotarán nuestros recursos naturales? La verdad es que si, o por lo menos si los seguimos consumiendo sin un desarrollo sustentable, ¿Qué quiere decir? Es el desarrollo de una generación sin dañar a la próxima, y nosotros no estamos haciendo las cosas bien. Por ejemplo los bosques naturales, el hombre es responsable de que muchos de estos se pierdan: Deforestamos a estos para la obtención de su materia prima (la madera) o para obtener grandes territorios para cultivar. El problema de esto es que no solo dañamos a muchos animales destruyendo sus hábitats, si no que también nos perjudicamos a nosotros mismos: Menos cantidad de árboles significa menos dióxido de carbono siendo absorbido por ellos y también menos oxígeno producido.

From here to there

In Language & Literature we wrote a poem about a traveller, we could use the ideas the book gave us or we could use our young idea. I worked with Juanpi and we choose one option in  which this traveller wander from place to place, being free to roam around. Here is our poem: 

Green trees and
a wonderful peace,
Walking around
With the singing birds.

From the brown
Mountains I
See the beautiful
Downtowns.

Desert, sand, what
I only see
It's a dry land,
Shinning like the sun.

Now I'm old. I'm
Remembering with my
Daughter my days
On the land and also
In the water.

Nuestra última hora

En lengua leímos un poema llamado "Romance de la última hora" y luego de haberlo analizado Laura nos pidió que escribamos nuestro propio poema contando un poco nuestra experiencia de la última hora:

Toca la campana del último recreo, 

Para muchos es algo bueno,

Pero yo pienso diferente,

En esta hora todos somos sobrevivientes.

El lápiz en mi mano pesa, 

Como si ella fuera una presa,

Víctima de estudio sin equilibrio,

Hasta que se desploma en el libro.

El texto de sociales se convierte en chino,

Y las letras vuelan por las hojas sin filo,

Es ahí cuando me pregunto,

¿Cuánto le falta a este asunto?

Justo antes de mi final,

Mis párpados se abren sin igual,

El timbre ensordecedor,

Se convierte en mi salvador.

Poesía

En lengua leímos un poema escrito en otro idioma, y a partir de lo que lográbamos entender por semejanza al castellano o al inglés y lo que imaginábamos que eso significaba, adaptamos el mismo al castellano.

Bin Laden es fuerte. El sol entra en 

su sangre

mientras se prepara para sus ataques 

muy bien pensados, pero no para las personas comunes.

Yo lo vi en la calle, en mi vida lo voy a olvidar.

Estaba con su larga barba. Pero se la tapaba con una bufanda

y parecía un hombre tanto normal como feliz.

También lo vi poniendo sal a un dannet que comía. Ningún hombre lo veía,

y el ablandaba un centenar de frutillas con azúcar.

Como si ese centenar fuera una gran cantidad de blancos corriendo por sus vidas.
